Komodo park tickets and the daily quota for a group of 20 to 25, 2026 to 2027

Updated 12 October 2026

A group of 20 to 25 pays the park entrance per person per day: IDR 250,000 for foreign guests, IDR 50,000 for Indonesians and IDR 75,000 in the higher holiday band. Tickets are reserved online in SiOra. Padar runs in sessions. For September to December 2026, reports give 500 visitors a day, as a maximum or a minimum.

What the entrance ticket costs for 25 guests

Government Regulation 36 of 2024 (PP 36/2024) sets the price. It took effect on 30 October 2024, and the park authority briefed the Labuan Bajo trade five days earlier (ANTARA, 26 October 2024). The ticket is per person and per day, and covers trekking, wildlife viewing and snorkelling (CNN Indonesia, 30 October 2024).

Foreign guests pay IDR 250,000 every day. Indonesian citizens pay IDR 50,000 on a weekday and IDR 75,000 in the higher band. ANTARA (26 October 2024) names that band as holidays, and CNN Indonesia (30 October 2024) as holidays, collective leave days and feast days. Ask us which dates in your trip carry it.

Then multiply. A group of 25 foreign guests pays 25 times IDR 250,000 per park day, so 2 park days mean 50 tickets. A mixed group adds a second line at the Indonesian rate: IDR 50,000 per guest per park day on a weekday and IDR 75,000 in the higher band.

The vessel has its own entry levy, set by engine power and charged per boat, so it is not a per-guest line (CNN Indonesia, 30 October 2024). The ticket is priced per day, which we read as days spent inside the park and not the length of the trip, so ask for the park-day count on the quote.

How the tickets are bought and what is paid where

Reservations go through SiOra, the park authority's online system. It has been compulsory since 1 February 2025, and payment in it is non-cash (ANTARA, 31 October 2025).

Every visitor, vessel and cruise ship reserves against the quota and a time slot (Metrotvnews, 30 March 2026). CNN Indonesia reported on 26 March 2026 that the latest point is the day before the visit.

Each ticket belongs to one named visitor. We enter the passport number as well. No news report spells out the form fields, so read the passport number as our practice and not as a published rule.

The date on each ticket must be the day that guest is on the island. The acting head of the park authority, BTNK (Balai Taman Nasional Komodo), said on 26 September 2026 that visitors who enter before the date on their ticket use the quota up faster (CNN Indonesia, 29 September 2026). A separate rule covers a visitor found inside the park with no ticket at all: an administrative sanction of up to five times the tariff (CNN Indonesia, 30 October 2024).

ANTARA (31 October 2025) reported that some intermediaries kept visitors' ticket money, so ask for a confirmation per guest.

The quota, the Padar sessions and why the programme says Padar or Gili Lawa

The park has admitted at most 1,000 visitors a day since 1 April 2026 (ANTARA, 14 April 2026, and Floresa, 7 April 2026). BTNK said it covers every natural attraction (TTG Asia, 20 February 2026). ANTARA's Indonesian report (14 April 2026) gives 429,509 visits in 2025, above a yearly carrying capacity of 366,108, against 378,870 in a 2022 study. Metrotvnews (30 March 2026) gives 432,217 visits for 2025.

CNN Indonesia (29 September 2026) reports that the annual allowance of 365,000 was spent by August. For the four months from September to December 2026, BTNK then set a daily figure of 500, on a notice dated 22 September. The reports disagree on what the 500 means. CNN Indonesia (29 September 2026) calls it a maximum. CNN Indonesia (26 September 2026) and IDN Times (26 September 2026) quote the notice as a minimum of 500. At 500 a day a group of 25 is one-twentieth of the park's day, and less if 500 is a floor.

South Padar adds sessions. There are three a day. The first runs from 05:00 to 08:00 and the second from 08:00 to 11:00 WITA, and the reports differ on the start of the third, so we print no afternoon time. CNN Indonesia (26 March 2026) puts each at 330 visitors, Metrotvnews (30 March 2026) at about 300. So 25 guests take one-thirteenth to one-twelfth of a session.

This is why the open-trip programme prints pairs: Padar or Gili Lawa on one side, Komodo village or Rinca on the other. The quota is counted per day and, at South Padar, per session, so the programme promises neither island of a pair. The entrance amount is the same wherever the boat lands, because the ticket is priced per day and not per island.

Ranger fees: what was published, and when

The ranger fee is separate from the entrance ticket and is never in the fare. A ranger leads every walk. The park decides how many guests walk with one and what the fee is, so read this line from the park's rule and not from a head count.

March 2024 holds the latest dated schedule we found. detikTravel (11 March 2024) reported that the ranger fee had been 120,000 rupiah for each group of 1 to 5 visitors, and that early in 2024 it rose to 150,000 rupiah for Padar and 200,000 to 300,000 rupiah on the Komodo tracks. Floresa (27 March 2024) dates the new rates from 1 March. The tourism trade said it had not accepted the rise. We know of no later published schedule, and no source we read says how a party of 25 is divided today.

This site therefore prints no ranger figure. Your quote carries the ranger as its own line.

What we do not know yet

  • The foreign tariff. The Forestry Minister said on 14 April 2026 that a higher foreign fee was under study (Katadata, 14 April 2026, and Floresa, 15 April 2026). No amount or date followed. IDR 250,000 is the price in force on 12 October 2026, not a promise for 2027.
  • The 2027 quota. A deputy minister said on 24 April 2026 that the yearly limit is not fixed and a rise could be considered after trail and pier work on Padar this year (ANTARA, 25 April 2026). No date or 2027 figure is published.
  • Quota rules. BTNK plans to reorganise how the quota is shared (CNN Indonesia, 29 September 2026). Reports differ on whether the sessions apply to South Padar alone (CNN Indonesia, 26 March 2026) or to Komodo and Rinca too (Floresa, 15 April 2026).
  • Closure days. BTNK floated regular closure days in July 2024 (ANTARA, 15 July 2024). No later source we read shows one in force.
  • The 500 a day. CNN Indonesia calls it a maximum (29 September 2026) and others a minimum (26 September 2026). We have not seen the notice itself.
  • Gaps. No source says whether 25 guests can share one Padar session when places run short, whether a ticket can move date, or which rate a foreign resident pays.

What this means for your dates

Reports give a daily figure of 500 visitors until December 2026 and disagree on whether it is a maximum or a minimum. Either way, book park tickets as soon as the head count is fixed. Open trips leave every Monday & Friday, and the dates page lists the sailings that can still be booked. On a private charter you propose the day and the boat's calendar confirms it.

For 2027, no source gives an end date for the quota, the sessions or the SiOra reservation, and the foreign tariff is under study. Ask for the park lines to be priced separately.

Checklist for your dates

  • Names and passport list. One line per guest: full name as printed in the passport, passport number, nationality. It travels with the balance, as the booking steps set out.
  • Who pays. Decide whether the organiser pays every park line or each guest pays their own.
  • Cash. The entrance ticket is non-cash. Carry rupiah for any line collected on the island.
  • Documents for the domestic rate. Ask us which ID each Indonesian guest needs. No source we read names the document, and none names the rate for a foreign resident.
  • Higher band. Mark every public holiday on the programme, and ask us whether any Saturday or Sunday carries the higher band.
  • Dates. The ticket date is the date on the island, so build the programme to match it.

Send your head count and two possible dates, and we work out the park lines for your list.

FAQ

How early should a group of 25 reserve park tickets?

CNN Indonesia reported on 26 March 2026 that the latest point is the day before the visit. Under a daily quota the places for a date are limited, so reserve as soon as the head count is fixed. The reservation needs every guest's name and passport number.

What if Padar is full on our day?

The programme prints Padar or Gili Lawa, so the boat lands at the one with places left. The ticket is priced per person per day, not per island, so the entrance amount does not change. Neither island is promised in advance.

Can the foreign tariff rise before 2027?

A rise is under study, the Forestry Minister said on 14 April 2026 (Floresa, 15 April 2026). No amount or date had been published by 12 October 2026, and the figure on this page is the one in force today.
