Komodo 2 days 1 night by phinisi: private charter or open-trip bed

Updated 12 October 2026

A 2D1N trip gives you one night on board, Kelor, Manjarite and Kalong on day 1, then Padar, the Komodo walk, Pink Beach and Manta Point on day 2. A private charter costs IDR 4,670,000 (≈ USD 287) each for 16 guests and fixes the return hour in the confirmation. Open-trip two-day guests are back between 19:00 and 20:30.

Is two days the right length?

Pick 2D1N if one of these describes your group.

  • You have two free days and cannot ask for a third, and you want Padar and the Komodo walk in them.
  • Some guests can stay three days and some cannot, and you want the open trip, where two-day and three-day guests ride the same sailing.
  • The trip is a first look at the park, and a longer charter can follow in another year.

Choose a private 3D2N instead if the group includes guests who tire early. Day 2 of the private route holds four stops between the first walk of the morning and the return to the pier, and a third day ends with a morning return instead of an evening one. Take 3D2N as well if you want Taka Makassar or Kanawa, because the private two-day route leaves both out. Open-trip two-day guests do reach Taka Makassar, on day 2.

Two days is not a gentle plan for guests who dislike early starts. Padar is the first stop of day 2, so the wake-up call is early, and the best-months page carries a sunrise table for it.

Day one and day two in order

Pickup on a private charter is at the hour agreed in your confirmation, from a hotel or the airport. Boarding comes first, then lunch, then the two stops of the afternoon, Kelor and Manjarite. The flying foxes at Kalong close day 1.

Day 2 begins on the Padar ridge, the first stop of the day, and continues with the Komodo walk with a ranger, a swim and snorkel at Pink Beach, lunch, and a drift at Manta Point from the tender. The private charter then turns for the pier, and its return hour is fixed in the confirmation.

The confirmation fixes the stop list. The order, and whether Manta Point is worth the current, is the captain's call on the day.

On board, the kayak is an inflatable two-seater in yellow and grey, marked EXPLORER. The paddle board is red with a koi-fish print.

The same two days on the open trip

Open-trip two-day guests do not sail a separate route. They sail the first two days of the 3D2N open trip, which puts Taka Makassar on day 2, and they step off at the pier on the evening of day 2 between 19:00 and 20:30. Pickup falls inside a window from 10:30 to 11:55 on day 1, and your exact time is sent the day before.

The fare is per person for two sharing a cabin: IDR 5,250,000 (≈ USD 322) in a master cabin, IDR 4,950,000 (≈ USD 304) in the Flores suite and IDR 4,400,000 (≈ USD 270) in a sea-view cabin. A cabin is sold for a minimum of two, so a solo guest who wants a cabin alone pays two shares. The cabins page prints the full fare table for 2026 and for 2027.

A guide and a photo and video set are in the open-trip fare, and a private charter carries neither. Stops on day 2 follow the printed 3D2N route, so the park quota that day decides between Padar and Gili Lawa and between Komodo and Rinca.

Choose the private charter if you want to name the stops, or if you do not want strangers in the restaurant.

Sailing minutes and what a full boat changes

Sailing from the pier to Kelor takes 50 to 70 minutes. From there it is 30 to 60 minutes to Manjarite and 50 to 70 to the mangrove at Kalong, where the bats leave after sunset. The legs table holds these ranges. The itinerary table above carries the day 2 figures: 60 to 90 minutes before the Komodo walk and 30 to 60 before each of Pink Beach and Manta Point.

A full boat changes two things on day 2. The Komodo walk goes with a park ranger, whose fee sits outside the fare (see the park-fees page). At Pink Beach, 20 or more guests reach the sand in several trips of the tender, which stretches the stop.

Two days, per head, at four group sizes

For 10 guests the whole boat on 2D1N comes to IDR 6,350,000 (≈ USD 390) each. For 16 it is IDR 4,670,000 (≈ USD 287), for 20 it is IDR 3,740,000 (≈ USD 229), and for 25 it is IDR 3,390,000 (≈ USD 208). Each guest from the 21st to the 25th adds IDR 2,000,000 (≈ USD 123) to the boat price, and the table prints the four bands with the 2027 list beneath.

A couple alone on the boat pays IDR 28,750,000 (≈ USD 1,764) each, which is more than five times an open-trip bed. A small group should set this figure beside the open-trip 2D1N fare before choosing.

On a private charter the park tickets, the guide and the photographs are each billed apart from the boat. The park fee is paid online, in each visitor's name, and is never in the fare.

What the fare holds, and what to settle first

The boat, the crew, the meals of the programme, water, tea and coffee, the mask and snorkel, and the pickup are in. Flights, hotel nights, tips, insurance, fins and the park are out. Read the two lists once more for the guide and the photo set, which sit on different sides depending on whether you charter or join.

Settle these before you send money:

  • The head count and the kinds of cabin, fixed in the quote.
  • The day 2 stops, with Padar named as the first stop.
  • The guide and the photo set, either added or declined.
  • No flight out on the evening of day 2.
  • A hotel for the night of day 2.

The rooming list with names and passport details follows with the balance, 30 days before departure, as the booking steps lay out. Send us the date and the head count to start the quote.

FAQ

How late is the boat back on the second day?

Open-trip two-day guests are back at the pier between 19:00 and 20:30, and the transfer to the hotel follows. A private charter fixes its return hour in the confirmation. On either plan, book the flight out for the next day. Three-day guests are back by late morning and fly after 14:00.

What does a private 2D1N leave out compared with 3D2N?

Taka Makassar on day 2, and the third day with Sebayur and Kanawa, which means no last morning swim. Kelor, Manjarite, Kalong, Padar, Komodo, Pink Beach and Manta Point are shared by both routes, so a two-day group still sees the main stops of the park.

What does a private two-day charter cost per head for 12 and for 25?

For 12 guests it is IDR 5,750,000 (≈ USD 353) each, and for 25 guests it is IDR 3,390,000 (≈ USD 208) each, including the extra amount of IDR 2,000,000 (≈ USD 123) for every guest above 20. Park tickets, a guide and photographs are separate lines, quoted before you pay.

Can a private 2D1N start on any date?

On a date the boat's calendar shows free, which we confirm with the quote. The open trip is different: it sails every Monday and Friday, and its calendar shows only the dates still open to book. The open-trip calendar sits on the departures page.

Which cabin classes can two-day open-trip guests book?

All of them: the Sumbawa and Jawa masters, the Flores suite and the four sea-view cabins. Two-day fares are printed for each class, and the 2027 list sits in the 2027 fare table on the cabins page. A cabin is sold for a minimum of two guests.
