Princess Nabila Phinisi
Updated 12 October 2026
Princess Nabila is a 33 m timber phinisi with two masts, built in 2024 and finished in 2025. The main deck holds 3 cabins and the restaurant, the upper deck 4 cabins and the wheelhouse, and a turf sun deck covers the roof. 8 crew and 25 guests are printed as separate figures. There is no lift and no dive gear.
Start with the hull board. It reads PRINCESS NABILA 01 in dark capitals on a white band at the front of the upper deck, on both sides. The boat is a timber phinisi 33 m long and 5.25 m across, drawing 2.25 m, with two masts. It was built in 2024 and finished in 2025, and the title block of the deck plan names Sape, on Sumbawa.
Power and tanks are printed as a 240 HP main engine, a 190 HP auxiliary engine, 6,000 litres of fresh water and 1,000 litres of fuel. The rate cards give no cruising speed, no gross tonnage and no engine make, so this page gives none. Sailing times between stops sit on the route pages, stop by stop, as ranges.
The table below is the full specification. Forward it to a colleague who wants a figure checked.

Walk forward from the stern. First comes Jawa, the master cabin, with a balcony close to the water. Its door is inside the restaurant, at the end of the window counter, and the galley is next to it. Then the restaurant itself: a buffet island in the centre, counters along the windows and the inner wall, about 20 chairs, one wall TV and windows that open. Papua and Maluku lie forward of it, and a life ring hangs on the rail outside Papua's window.
Beyond the cabins the main deck is a working foredeck with anchor gear, ropes and a long slatted bowsprit. None of the three cabins on this level needs a staircase to reach the restaurant, which settles where the grandparents sleep.
What this level cannot do is seat 25 at once. The restaurant holds about 20, so a full group eats in two sittings or takes dinner upstairs. Settle that in the first message, not on the day.

A buffet island in the middle, counters along the windows, about 20 chairs and a wall TV. No dining tables, so a full boat eats in two sittings.

The roof takes a group dinner on the turf, under the mast lights, with guests on bean bags.

Served on a trip we filmed in late May 2025: grilled fish, chicken satay, squid, clams with chilli sambal, vegetables with peanut sauce and papaya.

Open side walkways with dark timber rails upstairs, a working foredeck with a long bowsprit, and two stacked stern balconies, Jawa below and Sumbawa above.

One inflatable two-seat kayak, one red stand-up paddle board, a white tender with an outboard, and mask and snorkel sets. No fins on board.
Take the stairs and the layout changes. Sumbawa sits at the stern, directly above Jawa, with a roofed private balcony. Flores is midship, its balcony recessed into the side of the hull. Sulawesi and Bali are the other two cabins here, each with one wide window along the bed. The wheelhouse is forward, and in front of it lies a small open deck under an awning.
Open walkways with dark timber rails run along both sides, and the door of Bali opens straight onto one of them. Sumbawa has the only rain shower on this level. Flores, Sulawesi and Bali have a hand shower.
Our rule of thumb, and not a measurement: the upper deck moves more in a swell and carries less engine sound than the main deck. A light sleeper does well here. A guest who dreads motion does better below. The awning gives the front of this deck cover, so send the group there when the roof is too bright.
The sun deck is the roof, laid with green artificial turf from end to end. Around a dozen bean bags in yellow, pink and navy lie on it, with wooden benches and white box benches along the edges. Two floodlights hang from the mast crosstree, and the outdoor units of the air conditioners sit at the roof edge.
On 31 May 2025 about 20 guests ate dinner up here, seated on the turf and the bean bags around a long, low table with a red runner, under those two floodlights. It is the picture to hold in mind for a group dinner, and it shows the limit as well: about 20 people filled that table.
Nothing covers the turf. Programme the roof for early morning and late afternoon, and send the group down at midday. The rail is low, so a child goes up with an adult beside them. Rain closes the roof, and an evening planned for the turf moves into the restaurant, where a party of 25 needs a second sitting.
Carry two numbers away. 21 is the fixed beds: seven cabins, each with a double bed and a single. 25 is the licence. The gap of four is filled with extra beds, which go into the two master cabins and the four sea-view cabins and never into Flores, which stops at three.
In the cabins we filmed, the single is a pull-out lower bed under the double, and in Bali it was pulled out on camera. Jawa differs: one wide platform carries the double and the single side by side. There are no bunks anywhere, and every filmed bed has a white-painted base. The rate cards do not say what kind of bed the fourth guest gets, so ask before you promise it to anyone.
Add the cabins up and the table reaches 27, then caps the total at 25. The cap is the licence, and it is the figure to quote to your group.
| Cabin | Rooms | Beds | Sleeps | with extra bed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jawa Master Cabin | 1 | 1 double + 1 single on one wide platform | 3 | 4 |
| Sumbawa Master Cabin | 1 | 1 double + 1 pull-out single | 3 | 4 |
| Flores Balcony Suite | 1 | 1 double + 1 pull-out single | 3 | 3 |
| Sea View Cabin, upper deck (Sulawesi · Bali) | 2 | 1 double + 1 pull-out single | 6 | 8 |
| Sea View Cabin, main deck (Papua · Maluku) | 2 | 1 double + 1 pull-out single | 6 | 8 |
| Berths in total | 7 | 21 | 25 |
The licence caps the boat at 25 guests.
Read the not-fitted rows as closely as the fitted ones. There is no lift, so three levels mean stairs for everyone. The turf deck has no shade. The rate cards list no stabilisers and no jacuzzi, and the boat carries no dive compressor and no tanks, which makes it a snorkel boat. A snorkel set is a mask and a snorkel. Fins are not supplied.
The 2027 booklet prints this safety list: AIS, a life raft, life jackets, life rings and a first-aid kit. Our footage adds at least 6 life rings on the rails, a fire extinguisher in the restaurant and smoke detectors on the ceilings of four filmed cabins. Starlink Wi-Fi is fitted.
No TV, safe or wardrobe appears in any cabin we filmed, so plan without them.

| Private bathroom in every cabin | Fitted | 7 cabins, 7 bathrooms, wet-room style with sit-down toilet |

| Snorkelling gear (mask and snorkel) | Fitted | Included |

8 crew and 25 guests are printed as separate figures. The crew are a captain, a cruise director, a chef, an engineer and deckhands. The split by role is not printed and no names are published, so we give none.
The captain decides the order of the stops from the weather and the park quota. On the day, the weather and the captain's decision settle where the boat spends the night. The chef works from the galley beside Jawa. A cruise director comes with every private charter.
Everything on shore sits with us: hotel nights, the pickup and a vehicle for up to 12. We advise on flights and sell no tickets.
There is no lift. Three levels are linked by stairs, so every guest climbs to reach the roof and the upper cabins. Jawa, Papua and Maluku are on the main deck and reach the restaurant without a staircase. A guest who cannot manage stairs belongs in one of those three, and should be told the roof is out of reach.
Starlink Wi-Fi is fitted and printed on the 2026 and 2027 rate cards. Treat it as a way to send messages and photos, and tell the group before departure so nobody plans a long video call from the boat.
Princess Nabila is 33 m long, timber, with two masts. It was built in 2024 and finished in 2025. Guest reviews on this site cover trips run by PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia on several boats and are not reviews of this one, because the boat is new. The hull board reads PRINCESS NABILA 01.
The 2027 booklet lists AIS, a life raft, life jackets, life rings and a first-aid kit. Our footage shows at least 6 life rings on the rails, a fire extinguisher in the restaurant, smoke detectors in four of the cabins we filmed, and guests wearing life jackets in the kayak.
8 crew sail with the boat: a captain, a cruise director, a chef, an engineer and deckhands. The licence allows 25 guests. The figure is printed on its own, with no split by role, and every private charter includes the cruise director.
Princess Nabila sails with its own crew, and PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia handles the booking, the payment and the trip file.
