Princess Nabila Phinisi
Komodo 3 days 2 nights by phinisi, stop by stop
Updated 12 October 2026
Day 1 of the 3D2N route covers Kelor, Manjarite and Kalong. Day 2 takes in Padar and Komodo, then Pink Beach, Manta Point and Taka Makassar, and day 3 ends at Kanawa. Several stops are either/or and the park quota decides. The open trip leaves every Monday and Friday. A private charter costs IDR 5,220,000 (≈ USD 320) each at 16 guests.
Which stops are either/or, and who decides
Two kinds of booking sail this route. The open trip follows the route printed in the brochure. A private charter takes the same three days with a stop list written for your group. The table below is the printed route, and it carries no clock time for any stop. The only times on the page are the pickup window on day 1 and the return on day 3.
Five places in the printed route are either/or or conditional:
- Padar or Gili Lawa, as the first stop of day 2. The park quota decides.
- Komodo village or Rinca, for the ranger walk. The park quota decides this one too.
- Pink Beach or Namong, for the swim and snorkel before lunch.
- Kanawa or Seture on day 3, on the open trip.
- Strawberry Rock on day 1, only when sea and time allow.
The quota belongs to the park and the order of the stops to the captain, who sets it on the day.

Tide and wind decide the order of these stops: Manta Point ⇄ Taka Makassar.
Planning times, not a timetable. Only the pickup has a set hour.
Where 20 guests lose time, and where they gain it
A full boat does not change the route. It changes the minutes each stop takes.
On the ridge
From the landing to the main viewpoint on Padar is a walk of 25 to 45 minutes, and the path has loose, steep stretches. Bring a head torch and shoes with grip. A group of 20 strings out along the path, so allow time for the slowest walker.
On the trail and the beach
At the Komodo or Rinca station the park assigns the rangers and decides how large each walking party is, and the ranger fee comes on top, as the park-fees page explains. At Pink Beach the single tender carries a full group ashore in several trips, so the swim starts in stages.
In the current
Manta Point is a drift from the tender, with a strong current and a life jacket advised for anyone who is not a confident swimmer. It depends on the tide, which is why the table flags it. On the open trip the local guide is in the fare. On a charter the drift is guided only if you buy the guide line. Taka Makassar, the sandbar, shows only at low tide.
The open trip on this route
If your group is fewer than 15 and you want to share the boat with others, this is the door. The open trip leaves every Monday and Friday, and the next departure is Friday, 16 October 2026. Day 1 pickup falls inside a window from 10:30 to 11:55, with your exact time sent the day before. On day 3 the boat is back at the pier between 10:00 and 11:00, so book a flight after 14:00.
A cabin is priced per person for two sharing: IDR 5,950,000 (≈ USD 365) in a master cabin, IDR 5,600,000 (≈ USD 344) in the Flores suite and IDR 5,150,000 (≈ USD 316) in a sea-view cabin. A third guest in the same cabin pays the extra-bed rate, and a cabin is sold for a minimum of two. The cabins page prints the whole fare table, with the two-day fares and the 2027 list.
For a couple choosing a cabin: the Sumbawa and Jawa masters have a private stern balcony, Flores has a side balcony, and the four sea-view cabins have one wide window along the bed and no balcony.
A guide and a photo and video set are in the open-trip fare, and every guest leaves with a free woven ikat cloth. Park tickets, ranger fees, flights, tips and insurance are not in it.
Choose a private charter instead if you need to name your stops, or if your group is 17 guests or more.
What a private 3D2N changes
Five things differ from the open trip. Pickup is at the hour agreed in your confirmation instead of inside a window. The stop list is written for your group and sent with the quote. Day 3 goes to Sebayur and Kanawa, where the open trip goes to Kanawa or Seture. The restaurant, the sun deck, the karaoke and the sound system are yours alone. The guide and the photo set are not in the fare, and we quote them as separate lines on request.
Sebayur offers a beach and snorkelling reefs, sits outside the dragon area, and lies 90 to 120 minutes from Labuan Bajo by boat. The return time in the table is the open-trip window of 10:00 to 11:00. On a private charter with Sebayur in the morning, the return hour is fixed in the quote. Book flights after 14:00 either way.
For 16 guests the boat costs IDR 83,500,000 (≈ USD 5,123), which is IDR 5,220,000 (≈ USD 320) each. For 20 guests it is IDR 4,180,000 (≈ USD 256) each, and for 25 it is IDR 3,840,000 (≈ USD 236). At 15 and 16 guests the cost per head is about the same as the lowest open-trip bed. From 17 guests upward the whole boat costs less per head.
| Guests | per boat | per person |

How long each leg takes
Day 1 runs 50 to 70 minutes to Kelor, 30 to 60 on to Manjarite and 50 to 70 to the mangrove at Kalong. On day 2 the sail to the Komodo or Rinca walk is 60 to 90 minutes, the sail to Pink Beach and to Manta Point is 30 to 60 minutes each, and Taka Makassar is 20 to 30 minutes beyond Manta Point. The way back on day 3 is 60 to 90 minutes.
Every figure is a planning range. The legs table lists the pairs of stops for which we hold a range, and its last column says how firm each one is.
Read the map for position, not order. Manta Point and Taka Makassar swap places with the tide.
| From | To | Minutes | Confidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| Labuan Bajo | Kelor | 50–70 | Verified |
| Kelor | Manjarite | 30–60 | Operating range |
| Manjarite | Kalong | 50–70 | Operating range |
| Manta Point | Taka Makassar | 20–30 | Operating range |

Lists to read, and what to send us
Two lists follow, and the one line that moves between them is the guide with the photo set. On the open trip both are in. On a private charter neither is. Park tickets are out on both, bought online in each visitor's name, and the park-fees page lists the foreign, domestic and weekend rates. The ranger fee is extra on both.
Each guest gets a mask and a snorkel. Fins are not supplied. Bring your own pair. The paddle board on board is red with a koi-fish print.
Send the date, the head count and which door you want, open trip or private. For the open trip we look up the cabins that are free. For a private charter the quote carries the stop list and every line that is not in the fare.

FAQ
Is 3 days and 2 nights enough for the Komodo highlights?
It reaches Padar or Gili Lawa, a ranger walk at Komodo or Rinca, Pink Beach, Manta Point, Taka Makassar, the flying foxes at Kalong and Kanawa. What it leaves out is the second ridge walk, because Padar and Gili Lawa are either/or here, and the turtle reef at Siaba. The 4D3N private route adds both.
Who chooses between Padar and Gili Lawa?
The park quota on the day. The brochure prints the two as either/or, and the same applies to Komodo village and Rinca. Padar is the first stop of day 2 when its quota is open, and Gili Lawa takes its place when it is full. Neither an open-trip guest nor a charter group can fix the choice in advance.
Can we book Sebayur on the open trip?
No. Sebayur is a private-charter stop on day 3. The open trip goes to Kanawa or Seture instead. Sebayur is a 90 to 120 minute sail from Labuan Bajo, with beaches and snorkelling reefs. If Sebayur matters to your group, book the private route and have it named in the stop list.
What time are we back on the last day?
Between 10:00 and 11:00 on day 3 on the open trip, and the transfer to your hotel or the airport follows. Book a flight after 14:00. On a private charter the return hour is fixed in the quote. Day 1 pickup on the open trip is inside the 10:30 to 11:55 window.
How many guests make the private route cheaper than open-trip beds?
From 17 guests upward the whole boat costs less per head than the lowest open-trip bed. At 15 and 16 it is about equal, with 16 guests at IDR 5,220,000 (≈ USD 320) each. At 25 it falls to IDR 3,840,000 (≈ USD 236) each, before park tickets, guide and photographs.
